The Henhaven is shipped via UPS. It arrives in five boxes. The
basic steps for putting it together are as follows:
Assemble the Wheel Assembly.
Assemble 3 walls, install the wheel
assembly and floor.
Install nests and tarp.
The tarp makes cleaning a snap. Since
the tarp and the wire floor "breathe", the manure stays dry and
does not smell. To clean the unit, remove the nest and tarp. Shake the
tarp and then replace the nest and tarp. The tarp is
only used in very cold weather.
Install Roost Poles
Install the front wall
Build and attach sunroom.
Sunroom top and front wall.
Insert the nipple waterer in the
"hole" in the sunroom.
Install the roof frame
Install the roof panels.
The roof slides forward to open and is
held in place by roof sliders. This photo is taken from inside of the
Henhaven. The metal sliders are held in place by two 1/4" nuts.
