I put my Henhaven together about 3 weeks ago - and just love it! I'm not a very "handy" person so I really questioned the 1-2 hour assembly time, but

it was so fun & easy to put together - and my 15 month old daughter was even able to lend a hand! It's been so fun watching our two chickens and we're getting a few more next week. My daughter Zoë loves helping me move the house and chase the chickens around. Why didn't I do this earlier!?!

Shadow waits patiently in the evening for the return of the flock. This Henspa (Serial # 001) has been in north western New York State since 1999.  At that time, three couples discussed owing chickens. Wayne and Kathy bought this Henspa. One other couple built a traditional coop for more money than they believed it was possible to spend on a coop. The other couple tried raising their chickens in a garage. Today, those two couple no longer have chickens due to the mess and the smell.  The Henspa and their hens continue to give them great pleasure and wonderful eggs.

Steve, we're your SCal owners who got our Henspa last July. We started getting our 1st eggs just after the new year and have found the Henspa and our 8 Aracaunas a total delight.

The Henspa makes the chicken care requirements minimal and the eggs are delicious. We had some initial questions about whether the Henspa was a reasonable value and have concluded it's a great product.

We purchased a Henspa last April. The week it arrived my husband was out of town and my son is in school during the day. My 4 year-old daughter and I decided not to wait for the guys. We got out the tools and had the whole thing put together in 2 1/2 hrs. (snack break included). 4 y.o.'s can be very helpful holding pieces steady while Mama hammers or drills! She was a great help. Our 25 chicks arrived from the hatchery a week later and we used the upstairs as a brood house with 2 heat lamps for a couple of weeks then gave 20 to a friend and kept the five we wanted. We did have a tragedy when I placed the spa unknowingly on the edge of a hole  and all 5 chicks ran out, to the delight of our Lab (you may delete this from a testimonial , it was poor judgment on my part!). One survived and is now the head rooster of three beautiful hens that we reclaimed from our friend!. They have yet to lay but I will let you know how that goes when we get some eggs. It has been good, CLEAN fun all around. The Henspa keeps them happy and out of our barn.

Thanks, Holly D. Franklin, Tn.

We have lots of stories, also ideas for improvements (we bought the smaller coop).  We used the upstairs as a brooder after doing the cardboard box thing for 1 week.  It was much easier, esp. because I didn't have to bend over so to take care of the chicks.

Our Christmas photo this year might be our new Henspa with little chickie stockings ready for Santa on it (!).

My husband and I both make our livings in the computer business.  I am an independent consultant (project management, running development projects, including web projects, etc.) and my husband is also in project management. It is a RAT RACE!  But it pays the bills, doesn't it?

I have often thought about what else I could do, but nothing I really enjoy (horses, cats, quilts, art, etc.) pays.  Sigh.  My compromise is that I work part-time, or full-time for short stretches, and take weeks off between contracts.  We have a 120-acre farm, so lots to do.

I wish you the best of luck and success in your business.  You have a good product, and if you keep seeking customer feedback to make it better, you are bound to make it.  I am very familiar with marketing, sales, retail, and websites, and listening to your customers is #1.  They will tell you what is and isn't working. Anyway, expect to hear from us in the near future.

When we first purchased our farm, I told my family that the only animal I refused to have was chickens. The chicken coup on my grandparents farm where I visited growing up, while kept clean, was still stuffy, hot and smelly. When I saw the Henspa, I realized I could give my family organic, healthy eggs without all the negative aspects. Looking at it through engineer's eyes, you've thought of all the details! THANKS!

Steve...just to let you know how much Sue Ann & I are enjoying the Henspa you so kindly delivered and set up at our farm.  It is as easy...even easier...to work with than you said...and boy it is a great time saver.

Our chickens are really enjoying it...and our neighbors all have come over to marvel at the ingenuity of its design.   We may have some future customers for you.                    Sue Ann & Heinz Wilms

We really love the Henspa. We have 8 large black sex-links living in it in our backyard and I get to visit them often instead of driving the golf cart to the barn to visit. Enjoy the picture!
