Creative ways to find pullets

Hatcheries ship day-old chicks. If you want the satisfaction of eggs right away, then you will want to buy laying hens or pullets that are about to lay. As far as I know, no one ships grown chickens in small quantities. So, you will need to locate a farmer in your area.

	Call your feedstores, ask if they can refer you to someone.
	Call any farmer you know, he may know another farmer who has chickens.
	Run a "wanted" ad in the classified adds in a local paper.
	Read the classified ads, look under "livestock" section(s).
